Divine Cut Diamonds

You’ll find us over in Goregaon West at Jawahar Nagar. Our shop is at 251/3 on Road No: 15. This part of Mumbai is always active, especially with people in the diamond and jewellery trade. We call ourselves Divine Cut Diamonds, but we are really just a small group of people who know how to work with stones. Most of our time is spent hunched over benches with specialized tools. It’s a very manual process, and it takes a lot of concentration to get the cuts right. The room is usually quiet because you can’t really talk much when you’re focusing on something so small. We don’t have a big front office with carpets and air conditioning everywhere. It’s more of a workshop where the real work happens. Sometimes a stone doesn’t behave the way you expect, and you have to change your plan. That’s just the nature of working with natural materials. We’ve been here in Goregaon for a good while, and we’ve seen the roads get busier and the buildings get taller. We just stay here on Road 15 and keep our heads down. We aren't interested in being the biggest name in Mumbai; we just want to do our job and go home at the end of the day. People who know diamonds know where to find us in Jawahar Nagar. It’s a simple setup, and that’s the way we like to keep it.
