We’ve been at 6, Jafferbhoy Industrial Estate for quite a while now. Being right near Marol Naka on the Andheri Kurla Road means it’s always hectic outside. Inside Vijay Chemical Industries, it’s a different world. It’s all about the vats and the various supplies we keep on hand. It can get a bit smelly because of the chemicals, but you get used to it after the first week. The estate is a bit old, and the stairs sometimes creak, but it’s got character. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there; we just want to do our part and keep our customers satisfied. The staff here is like a small family, we eat lunch together and complain about the traffic on the way home. It’s a lot of measuring and checking and making sure we don’t spill anything. Safety is something we just do naturally because we’ve been doing it so long. We don’t use a lot of big words to describe what we do. It’s chemical work, plain and simple. If you need to find us, just look for the Jafferbhoy sign. We’re usually there from early morning until the sun goes down. It’s a busy life in Andheri, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. The work is steady and it keeps us on our toes every single day. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It might not be fancy, but it is what we do.
