Vidyalankar Institute Of Technology

Our spot here in Wadala East is tucked away inside the Vidyalankar Campus. If you’re coming down Vidyalankar College Marg, you’ll see the main gates and a lot of students hanging around the local shops. It gets quite lively during the day. The buildings are modern but they have a lot of character from the daily use. We spend most of our time in the labs or sitting in the offices dealing with paperwork. The campus has a specific feel to it, especially when the sun hits the common areas. There’s always a bit of a breeze coming through the corridors, which is nice in the Mumbai heat. We see a lot of faces every day, from the local vendors outside to the new students who look a bit lost. It’s a big place but you get used to the shortcuts between the blocks pretty quickly. Sometimes we grab a quick snack from the canteen if there's time between tasks. The staff here are mostly local people who know the area well. We don’t really bother with big speeches or anything. We just keep the lights on and the classes running. The library is one of the quieter spots, but even there, you can hear the hum of the city. It’s just where we work and where the students spend their years before heading off to jobs. This is our daily life here in Wadala.
