Vidya Exports Enterprises

Living and working out of Walkeshwar means dealing with a lot of narrow streets and old buildings. Our place is in the Ritu Apartment, unit 52. It’s more of a functional space than a showroom. We have boxes stacked in the corner and a lot of files regarding shipping and customs. Exports take up a lot of time with the paperwork, so someone is usually sitting at the desk typing away. It gets a bit cramped when a new shipment is being prepared. We handle all sorts of stuff going out, mostly just coordinating between the suppliers and the docks. The view isn't much, but the location is central enough for what we do. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. If the bell rings, one of us just gets up and opens the door. It might be a delivery or just the mail. Most of our day is spent on the phone or tracking packages online. It’s a quiet way to run a business. We’ve been in this building for some years now. Neighbors know us as the people with all the parcels. We don't really do much advertising. People find us through word of mouth or because they need something moved overseas. It’s a lot of waiting for emails and then rushing to meet a deadline. That is basically the whole story here. We just keep the boxes moving and the forms filed on time. It keeps us busy enough.
