Vicas College

Working at Vicas College over here in Kalyan East keeps us all on our toes most of the time. We are located at Block No. 304 in the Sahakari Gurha Nirman Co. Society, which is right by the Katemanevali Naka. It can get pretty hectic when the semester is starting up and students are running around trying to figure out their schedules. I spend a lot of my day handling files and answering the same questions about where the classrooms are. The building has a lot of history and you can tell by the way the stairs creak a little when too many people are on them at once. We deal with all sorts of paperwork every single day and sometimes the printers decide to stop working right when we need them most. It’s not a corporate office or anything like that, just a place where people come to learn things. We see students grow up over the years and then they eventually leave and new ones come in. Being near the Naka means there is always noise from the rickshaws and buses outside but we’ve gotten used to it. We just focus on keeping the place running and making sure the teachers have what they need for their lessons. It’s honest work and we take it one day at a time without much fuss or overcomplicating things. Most of us have been working in this part of Kalyan for years.
