You can find us at 33, Balaram Building, up on the second floor in Block C. We are right in the Grant Road area, which is always moving and very loud. Versatile Instruments And Controls is tucked away inside this old building. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. The space is filled with different gadgets and control panels. Being on the second floor means we get a bit of a view of the street below, which is always packed with people and cars. Grant Road has a specific energy to it that never really stops. Our office isn’t huge, but it fits our instruments and the tools we use for testing things. Sometimes the hallways in the building feel a bit narrow when we are moving boxes in or out. We spend a lot of time sitting at our benches with small screwdrivers and wires. It’s quiet work compared to the noise of the traffic outside. We drink a lot of tea to stay focused during the afternoon slump. The building itself has been around for a long time, and you can tell by the way the windows rattle when a heavy truck goes by. We don’t have a fancy lobby or a receptionist at the front. If someone comes by, they just knock on the door and walk right in. It’s a very hands-on environment and we just stay busy.
