We’ve got our office on the first floor of Hari Nivas. It’s located at 19 Mathew Road. It’s a solid old building, and we’ve been here at Venus Ethoxyethers for a good while. The stairs up to the first floor are a bit steep, but it’s just part of our daily routine. We aren't a big, flashy corporation with hundreds of employees. It’s just a handful of us working in a few rooms. We spend our days dealing with orders and talking to our suppliers on the phone. The desks are a bit old, and the ceiling fans make a little clicking sound when they're on high, but it’s home to us. Mathew Road can get pretty noisy with all the cars and bikes passing by, but once you’re inside the office, it’s mostly just the sound of typing and the occasional phone ringing. We don’t have a big fancy lobby or a receptionist sitting at a desk. You just walk in and you’re basically in the middle of the work area. We keep things pretty simple. There’s a small corner where we make tea, and that’s usually where we catch up on how everyone’s weekend was. We don’t use a lot of big words or have long, boring meetings. We just get the work done and head home when the day is over. It’s a practical setup that has worked for us for years. We like being in this part of town because everything is close by.
