Velocity Exotic Unisex Salon N Academy

Being on Film City Road in Goregaon East is always interesting because there’s so much happening outside. We’re in the A Wing of Satellite Tower, specifically Shop 5. It’s a busy corner of Mumbai. We do the usual salon work, but we also spend time teaching people who want to learn the trade. It’s not like a big university or anything, just us showing how to use the scissors and mix the colors properly in our academy. Some days it’s a bit chaotic with students and customers all in the same space, but we manage. The tower is a good landmark, so people don’t usually get lost finding us. We’ve got a mix of people coming in—some work in the nearby offices, others live in the apartments. It’s a unisex place, so it’s a real blend of everyone. We don’t go for anything too flashy even though the name sounds a bit fancy. It’s just about getting the work done right. The chairs are comfortable enough, and we keep the music at a level where you can still have a conversation. Sometimes we stay late if someone really needs a cut after their shift ends. That’s just the way it goes here. We don't have a big corporate office behind us, it's just a local operation. We like it that way because we can actually talk to the people who walk through the door without following a script.
