We are up on the first floor of building sixty-six here on S V Road. It’s right near the Chitralekha building, which usually helps people find us when they get lost looking for the gate. The office for Vedant Shipping Agency isn't some fancy high-rise place, just a regular work space where we handle the logistics stuff. Most days start with the sound of the traffic outside because S V Road is always moving. You can hear the horns and the buses from our windows. We have files stacked up and the computers are usually running all day long. It gets a bit crowded when everyone is in at once, especially when we have drivers coming in with papers or clients stopping by to check on their cargo status. Being in R Fort makes it easy for us to stay connected to the rest of the area. We’ve been at this spot for a while now, so we know the local shops and where to get the best tea in the afternoon. The stairs up to the first floor are a bit narrow, but you get used to it. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing. Shipping is mostly about making sure everything is in order and the paperwork matches up, so that’s what fills our hours. It’s a busy life here in Mumbai, and being right on the main road means we are always in the middle of it.
