Vagad Paper Mart

Vagad Paper Mart is down in the basement of 99 Paras Bhuwan. We’re located in Kalbadevi, specifically on Dady Seth Agi, which is an area that feels like it’s been there forever. To find us, you have to go down to the basement near Crystal Colony 570, right on Sonawala Agyari Lane. It’s a bit cool down there compared to the street, which is a relief when the Mumbai sun is beating down on the old buildings. The air smells strongly of paper and old ink. We have stacks of different sheets piled up everywhere, sometimes so high they almost touch the ceiling. It’s a bit of a labyrinth in the basement, but we know where everything is. The lane outside is narrow and always filled with people delivering bundles of goods. It can be hard for a big vehicle to get through, so there’s always someone shouting or honking. We’ve been in this spot for a long time, watching the neighborhood change while we stay the same. The walls are a bit damp in the corners, and the lighting is just a few simple tubes, but it serves us well. We just focus on getting the paper orders sorted for whoever walks down those stairs and asks for help. It’s a simple life in a very old part of the city where things move slowly.
