V M Kadam & Co

V M Kadam & Co is over here at Narayan Udya Bhavan in Lalbaug. If you know the industrial estate area, you know it gets pretty crowded around here during the day. We are up on the second floor, room 213. It is not a very fancy place, just a regular office where we get our work done. Most of us have been coming to this same spot for years now. The building has that old industrial feel to it, and sometimes the lift is a bit slow so we just take the stairs. We started out small and we still feel that way even though the years have passed. Lalbaug has changed a lot around us, with new buildings coming up, but our corner in the estate stays pretty much the same. There are files everywhere and the desks are a bit cluttered, but we know where everything is. It is just a handful of us working here. We don’t really do big meetings or anything like that. Usually, it’s just someone dropping by for a chat or to drop off some papers. The tea guy comes around twice a day and that is usually the highlight of the afternoon. We like being in this part of town because it feels real. It is noisy and busy, but it is home for the business. We don't have a big corporate story to tell. We just show up, do what needs doing for V M Kadam & Co, and go home.
