We are located at L-5 in the Turbhe Vashi APMC Market, Phase 2. If you’ve ever been to the market, you know it’s a world of its own. It’s loud, dusty, and full of trucks at all hours of the night and day. We deal with wholesale goods, so our space is basically just a large warehouse area filled with sacks. The smell of grain and spices is everywhere. I spend most of my time standing on the loading dock or sitting at a small desk tucked between the stacks of bags. It’s not a clean job. By the time I go home, my clothes are covered in dust. We have workers coming in and out, carrying heavy loads on their shoulders. There’s a lot of shouting back and forth to get the trucks loaded correctly. I use an old calculator that’s missing a couple of buttons, but it still works fine. We don't have any air conditioning, just a big industrial fan that moves the air around a bit. The market is most active in the very early morning. That’s when all the real work happens. By the afternoon, things quiet down a little, and we can finally take a breather and drink some water. It’s a tough environment, but it’s how the city gets its food. We’ve been part of this market for years, and we know how it works. It’s just about getting the goods in and getting them out again.
