You can find us at 18 Sham Bhuvan on G. K. Gokhale Road. It’s one of those older buildings in Mumbai that has seen a lot over the years. We’ve got stacks of files and folders everywhere because that’s just the nature of what we do. The office feels lived-in. There’s a specific smell of old paper and ink that stays with you. We start our day early, usually with a cup of strong coffee while we go through the mail. The road outside is always loud with honking cars and people rushing to work. We try to keep our heads down and focus on the numbers or whatever legal bits need sorting. It’s not a fancy setup with glass partitions. We have wooden desks and chairs that have been here since we opened. Sometimes the ceiling fan rattles a bit too much on high speed, so we keep it on medium. Clients come in and sit across from us, and we talk through their stuff without any big corporate talk. We prefer to keep things straightforward. If something is going to take a week, we say it’ll take a week. There’s no point in making things sound better than they are. When the day ends, we lock the big heavy door and head home like everyone else in this neighborhood. It’s honest work and we’re used to the routine here at Kunal R. Khona & Co.
