Universal Leather Boutique

If you know the Sion Bandra Link Road, then you know how much traffic there is. Our shop, Universal Leather Boutique, is right at Shop No. 4. It’s not a huge place, but we make sure every corner is used. The smell of leather is the first thing you notice when you walk inside. It’s a strong scent that sticks to your clothes by the end of the day. We have jackets, bags, and belts hanging everywhere. Some days the dust from the road gets inside, so we are always cleaning the glass counters. Sion West is a busy area, so there is always someone peaking through the window while they wait for their bus or a rickshaw. We usually start the day early, around ten, and stay until the shutters go down late at night. My brother handles the back office stuff while I stay out front. It’s mostly just us two running things here. We don’t have a big team or anything like that. The leather comes from different places, and we spend time checking each piece before it goes on the shelf. Sometimes customers ask for things we don't have, so we just write it down in a notebook for next time. It is a simple way of doing business, but it works for us. The lights in here are a bit old and they flicker sometimes, but they get the job done for now.
