Our office is on the second floor of the Marol Nand Dham Udyog building. It’s part of a co-operative society located at A/33 on Marol Maroshi Road. Being in Andheri East means we are right in the thick of the traffic and the noise. Ultimate Chem (India) Pvt. Ltd. has been here for a while now. The building is one of those typical industrial estates where you have all sorts of businesses stacked on top of each other. You have to climb the stairs to reach us, and it’s usually quite a workout. Once you’re inside, it’s mostly just desks and some sample bottles sitting on the shelves. We deal with chemicals, so there’s a lot of paperwork regarding regulations and shipping. It’s not a glamorous job. We spend a lot of time on the computer or talking to suppliers. The Marol Maroshi Road is always packed with buses and rickshaws, so getting anything delivered can take longer than you’d think. We just plan around it. We aren't a big corporation with hundreds of employees. We’re just a few people trying to run a steady business in a very busy part of Mumbai. There isn't much in the way of decoration, just the necessities to get the day's tasks done. We have a small corner for making tea and that’s about as fancy as it gets. It’s a practical space for a practical kind of business.
