Our office is over in Andheri East, right at 602 Crystal Plaza on the Link Road. Chakala is always a mess with traffic, so getting here in the morning is a bit of a struggle for everyone. Once you get up to the sixth floor, it’s a bit quieter. We do structural and engineering work from here. It’s an office setup, so there are desks, computers, and a lot of blueprints rolled up in the corners. We aren't one of those big firms with a glass lobby and a receptionist in a suit. Usually, you just walk in and one of us will look up from what we are doing. The view from the window is mostly other buildings and the busy road below. We spend a lot of time on the phone or working through designs. Sometimes we have to go out to sites, but this is our main base. The building is okay, though the elevators can be slow when everyone is trying to go for lunch at the same time. There are plenty of food stalls around the corner where we usually go. We’ve been in this spot for a while now and we know the rhythms of the building. It’s a practical place for an engineering firm. We don't have fancy art on the walls, just calendars and maybe a few photos of projects. We are Uday Structurals & Engineers.
