We are up on the 10th floor of the Ijmima Metroplex building in Malad West. It’s a big complex right behind the Goregaon Sports Club on Link Road. Being in a high-rise is a bit different from the street shops. We spend a lot of time waiting for elevators and looking out at the traffic below. Trends Fashion Jewellery Pvt. Ltd is basically an office where we handle the logistics and the designs. It’s mostly desks, computers, and boxes of samples scattered around the floor. We aren't really set up like a traditional store where you just walk in off the street. It’s more of a workspace for our staff to manage orders and talk to suppliers. The air conditioning is usually running, which is a relief compared to the humidity outside. We have a small pantry where we make coffee and take quick breaks during the day. The hours are filled with phone calls and checking shipments that come in and out. It’s a lot of paperwork and looking at spreadsheets to make sure everything is where it should be. Sometimes it feels a bit tucked away, being so high up, but it gives us the space we need to stay organized. We’ve got a view of the city, but most of the time we are too busy looking at the jewellery pieces on our desks to notice. It’s just a busy office where we get things done.
