It’s a very old part of the city with a lot of history. Total Exports & Equipments Pvt. Ltd. operates from a couple of rooms here. We deal with shipping equipment and managing exports for various clients. The building is old, with those narrow stairs and high ceilings that keep it a bit cooler. We spend a lot of time on the phone or working through stacks of customs papers. It’s not a modern glass-and-steel office. It’s a place where we’ve worked for years, surrounded by old files and the hum of a few window AC units. Lunch usually comes from one of the stalls downstairs because the food around Mohammad Ali Road is hard to beat. We don't have a big marketing budget or a social media person. We just rely on the relationships we've built over decades. Sometimes the electricity goes out or the internet is slow, and we just have to wait it out.
