You can find us at number 4 in Ghatkopar, right on the Old Chandapura Main Road. We are on Hosur Road, just opposite the Milan Shopping Centre. It’s a very busy street, especially in the evenings when everyone is out shopping. Our shop is packed with rolls of fabric from the floor to the ceiling. Sometimes it’s hard to move around when we have a lot of stock delivered. We don't have those big glass displays like the malls do. Instead, we have shelves piled high with all kinds of textiles. You can smell the cotton and the dye when you walk in. We spend the day unrolling cloth for people to see and measuring out meters with the old wooden ruler. It’s a lot of standing and moving heavy bolts of fabric. The fans on the ceiling try their best, but it gets warm in here with all the material. We have been in this location for a good while, so we know the other shopkeepers on the road pretty well. It’s a lot of hard work, especially during the festival seasons when everyone wants something new. We don't use any fancy systems; we just write things down and keep track of what we have. It’s a straightforward business where we just show the cloth and help people find what they need. It’s loud, it’s crowded, and there is always someone asking for a different color.
