Tilak Municipal Medical College And General Hospital is a huge place right in the heart of Sion. If you head to the ground floor of the college building, you will find the council room. It’s an old building, and you can really feel the history in the walls. The floors are worn down from the thousands of feet that walk over them every single day. Being a municipal hospital in Lokmanya Sion means we see everyone and everything. It is a very busy environment, with medical students rushing to their classes and doctors heading to the wards. It’s never really quiet here. There is always the sound of sirens outside or people talking in the hallways. We don’t have any of the fancy furniture or the quiet waiting areas you find in private clinics. It’s a lot of metal benches and crowded corridors. The work we do is very practical and straightforward. We see a lot of people who don't have anywhere else to go, so the pressure is always on.
