Thomas Baker (Chemicals ) Ltd. is situated at 4/86, Bharat Mahal, right on Marine Drive. If you know the area, you know it’s a famous stretch of road in Mumbai. Our office in Bharat Mahal has been around for quite a while. It’s an old building with a lot of character, though it shows its age in some corners. We don’t have a modern glass-and-steel setup. Instead, it’s a more traditional office space with high ceilings and heavy doors. Being by the sea means there is always a bit of salt in the air, which can be tough on the equipment sometimes. We spend our days here handling the various tasks that come with the chemical business. It’s a busy place, with phones ringing and people moving around. The view outside is nice, but we are usually too busy with paperwork and logistics to stare at the water for long. Most of our work involves coordinating things from this desk. It’s not a fancy showroom. It’s a working office where we keep track of everything. We’ve grown used to the rhythm of Marine Drive, the traffic, and the tourists walking along the promenade. Inside, it’s just us doing the job we’ve done for years. We don’t use much jargon or try to sound bigger than we are. We just stay here at Bharat Mahal and make sure the business keeps ticking over as it should every day.
