The Taj Mahal Hotel

We have a lot of rooms and many different hallways that seem to go on forever. I still get turned around sometimes if I am not paying attention to where I am walking. Being right by the water means the air is always a bit salty, and we spend a lot of our time cleaning the windows and making sure the stone looks okay. It is a constant job. There are always people coming and going from all parts of the world. Some of them are here for work and some are just looking at the Gateway across the street. We have a lot of staff members, but we mostly just focus on our own tasks. It’s not like a small family shop where everyone knows everything about everyone. We just keep the place running day and night. The kitchen is always busy, and there is always someone needing something. We don’t have any fancy speeches about what we are doing. We just provide a place for people to stay and eat. It is a lot of work to keep an old building like this in good shape. We just take it one day at a time. I have lived in this city for years, and this building has always been here. We just do our part.
