The Salon & Spa

You have to head up to the second floor of Thakur Mall to find us. We are right in Thakur Village in Kandivali East. It’s easy to tell people where we are because we are basically right above the McDonald’s. You can often hear the noise from the food court or kids playing nearby. The Salon & Spa is a bit of a getaway from that mall madness, though. It’s a bit quieter once you step through the door. We have the salon side and then the spa area which is a bit darker and more relaxed. We’ve been in this mall for quite a while now. Mumbai is always moving fast, so it’s nice to have a spot where things slow down just a little bit. We don’t use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. It’s just haircuts, massages, and that sort of thing. The staff usually brings their own lunch and we eat in the small break room in the back. Sometimes the mall security guards pop in just to say hello. It’s a friendly enough atmosphere. We don’t have any big corporate backing, it’s just a local operation. We keep an eye on the clock for the mall closing times, but otherwise, we just focus on whoever is in the chair. It’s a practical place for people who live in the Village and don’t want to travel far.
