The Royal Orchid (Formerly Known As Hotel Royal)

We’ve been here at 83-A, N.G. Acharya Marg for quite a long time. A lot of folks in Chembur still call us Hotel Royal, even though the sign says The Royal Orchid now. Names change, but we’re still the same people running the place. Chembur is a busy part of town, and N.G. Acharya Marg always has something going on. Our building isn't brand new, and it shows its age in some spots, but we keep it tidy. We don't have a huge staff or a corporate headquarters. It’s just us. We spend our mornings checking the rooms and making sure the lobby isn't too cluttered. It’s a lot of laundry and basic maintenance, honestly. We aren't trying to compete with the big luxury hotels downtown. We’re just a local spot for people who need a place to stay while they’re in this part of Chembur. Sometimes the street noise gets inside, but that’s just how it is around N.G. Acharya Marg. We know the neighbors and the shopkeepers nearby. When someone checks in, they usually talk to one of the three or four of us who are always here. We don't use any fancy talk about our values or anything like that. We just open the doors every day and try to be useful to whoever comes by 83-A. It gets busy during the local festivals, and we just do what we can to keep up. It's not a perfect setup, but it’s our living and we are okay with that.
