The Retreat

Our place, The Retreat, is actually located in Sita Ram Dubey Chawl, which is in the Gautam Nagar area of Mumbai, 400 066. It is not a big resort like the name might suggest to some people. We are based right in the heart of a busy chawl. It is a very honest and simple environment. We have a couple of small rooms where we do our work. There are always people around, and you can hear the sounds of the neighborhood all day long. We don't have any air conditioning, just a couple of fans that we keep running. The office is basic, with just some wooden tables and old chairs. We have been in Gautam Nagar for a long time, so we know most of the people nearby. It is a practical setup for us. We handle our daily business without any fuss. We don't have a marketing team or anyone to write fancy slogans for us. We just do what needs to be done every day. Sometimes it gets quite hot in the afternoon, so we take a break for some tea. We don't have a big sign outside, just a small one so people know they have the right door. It is a humble way of working, and we like being part of the local community here. We just focus on the tasks at hand and don't worry about being polished or corporate.
