The Learning Curve, Basant Garden

The Learning Curve in Basant Garden is actually located in Bungalow No 1, right in that co-operative society near Atur Park. Being in an actual house makes the whole setup feel a lot less like a formal school and more like a home. It’s on Sion Trombay Road, so it’s easy to find, even though Chembur can get pretty congested during the day. Inside, we’ve got different rooms set up for the little ones to play and learn. It’s often quite noisy with toddlers running around and teachers trying to keep them focused on their toys or drawings. We don’t try to be anything too fancy. It’s just a place where parents in the neighborhood can leave their kids, knowing they’ll be looked after. The backyard and the front area are used for outdoor time, which is important when you’re dealing with high-energy kids. We’ve seen a lot of local families come through these doors over the years. Some parents used to live just a few blocks away and now they’re bringing their second or third child here. It’s a simple operation really. We have our daily schedule of snacks, naps, and some basic lessons, and we just stick to it. The staff is mostly made up of people who just enjoy being around kids and don’t mind the occasional mess or tantrum. It’s just life in a busy Chembur bungalow turned into a learning space for the local community. It works for us and the families who come here.
