The Hotel Jayshree

The Hotel Jayshree is located at 197 Dayaldas Road, which is right opposite the Santa Cruz Airport in Vile-Parle East. Being in the 400057 area of Mumbai means there is never a moment of true silence. We are right in the middle of the city's hustle. The building has several floors, and we spend a lot of our time making sure the plumbing is working and the sheets are clean for the next person. Since the domestic terminal is just across the way, we get a lot of people who are only here for a few hours between flights. They are usually tired and just want a quick shower. Our lobby isn't very big, so it can feel a bit cramped when a whole family arrives with their suitcases. We have a small crew of workers who have been here for years, and they know exactly how to handle the Mumbai humidity. Sometimes the traffic on Dayaldas Road gets so backed up that it takes ten minutes just to cross the street, but that is just life here. We don't have a big fancy sign, just a simple one that people can see from their cars. We keep the tea kettle going in the back for the staff and the guests who need a wake-up call. It is a straightforward business, and we just try to keep things running.
