The Bombay Engineering Works

We are located over at Navyug Industrial Estate, specifically in Unit Nos. 12. The address is Tokersey Jivraj Road in Sewree West. Being in Sewree means we’re surrounded by a lot of old industrial history and the docks. The Bombay Engineering Works is a busy shop. There’s always the sound of metal hitting metal or the grind of a lathe going in the background. The floor is usually covered in a bit of oil and metal shavings, but that’s how an engineering place should look. We don't have any fancy chairs or a lounge for visitors to sit in. If you come by, you’ll probably find us in greasy overalls or checking some blueprints on a scratched-up wooden table. The estate itself is quite old, and the walls show the age of the place. But the structure is solid and it keeps the rain out. We spend our days fixing things and making parts that people need. It’s satisfying to see something being built from scratch with your own hands. Sometimes the power fluctuates in this part of town, which is a bit of a pain, but we just wait it out and get back to it. Our neighbors are all doing similar work, so there's a lot of banging and clanging from next door too. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People usually find us by word of mouth or by just walking into the estate. It’s a very hands-on way to run a business.
