The Allamanda Terrace

We are up here on the 6th floor of Hotel Marine Plaza. If you know Nariman Point, you know it gets pretty busy down on the street. Up here at The Allamanda Terrace, it is a bit different. You can see the water and the cars moving along Marine Drive. We spend a lot of time just getting tables ready before people show up for dinner. The wind can get quite strong since we are right by the sea. Sometimes it’s a bit of a struggle with the umbrellas when the breeze picks up in the evening. Most of us have been working here a while now. We know where everything goes. It’s not a huge place, but it feels open because of the sky. We try to keep things clean and tidy. The elevators are usually busy with guests coming up and down. People often come here to just sit and look out at the lights of the city. We don't really do anything too fancy, just regular work to make sure the food is out on time. The kitchen stays hot, especially during the summer months. We are at 400021 if you are looking for the pin code. It’s just one of those spots in South Mumbai where you can breathe a little bit. We open up in the evening and stay until the last person leaves. It's a lot of walking back and forth between the kitchen and the terrace edge.
