Thakur Village Welfare Hall

Thakur Village Welfare Hall is located in Sector No 7 of the PCNTDA area in Kandivali East. We are right opposite Challe and tucked behind the Thakur Theatre, which is a big landmark around here in 400101. This hall is where people come for all sorts of things, like small weddings, community meetings, or even just local gatherings. My job involves keeping the keys, making sure the lights work, and sweeping the floors after an event is finished. It’s a large open space, and it can get quite loud when there is a party going on. Kandivali East is a very crowded part of Mumbai, so there’s always something happening just outside our doors. The building has been here for a while and we do our best to maintain it, even though the walls could use a fresh coat of paint now and then. We don’t do big fancy marketing; people usually just hear about us from their neighbors or see us while they are going to the cinema. It’s a practical space for the people living in Thakur Village. Dealing with the bookings and the different groups can be a bit of a headache sometimes, but it’s good to see the community using the space. We just try to keep things running smoothly so everyone can have their function without any trouble. It's a lot of coordination, but we manage to stay organized.
