Thakur Engineering Works

Sewree is where you’ll find Thakur Engineering Works. It’s a very industrial part of the city, with a lot of old warehouses and heavy machinery around us. Our workshop is much like the others in the area. We do a lot of heavy-duty engineering stuff. The floor is mostly iron shavings and oil stains, but that’s expected in this line of work. We have big machines that make a lot of noise, so it’s hard to hear anything else when they are running. We don't spend money on fancy signs or marketing. People usually find us because they know someone who has used us before. We spend our days welding, cutting, and grinding metal into whatever shape is needed. It’s a lot of sweat and hard work, especially during the summer months when the heat trapped in the shop is intense. We have a few guys who have been with us since we started. We don't really have a front office, just a small desk in the corner where we keep the invoices and some old files. Sometimes the power goes out, and we have to sit and wait, which is just part of being in this part of town. We just focus on the metalwork and getting things done. It is not a glamorous life, but it’s what we know how to do. We take the jobs as they come and try to do them right.
