Our workshop and office are situated at Plot No. 98 on Street 16 in the MIDC Marol area of Andheri East. If you have ever been to Marol, you know it is a maze of industrial plots and narrow streets that get quite crowded. We have been here for quite some time now, focusing on making equipment and handling different projects. It is a practical space. We have got the fabrication area on one side and a few desks for the office staff on the other. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, but the overhead fans keep things moving. We are not much for fancy presentations; we would rather show people the actual machines we are building. The noise of welding and grinding is pretty much the soundtrack to our day. Most of us have been working together for years, so we have a good rhythm going. We deal with a lot of heavy metal and technical parts, so there is always something being moved around by the crane. Andheri is always crowded, so getting materials in and out can be a bit of a logistics puzzle, but we have figured out the best times to schedule the trucks. It is a no-nonsense kind of place. We just come in, do the work, and make sure the equipment is built to the specs we were given. There is not much more to it than that. We just focus on the craft.
