We’ve been at this spot on the ground floor of Building Number 4 for a while now. If you know the S.S Mungekar Industries area, you know it gets pretty busy with all the trucks and people moving things around. Being on Aarey Road in Goregaon East means there is always a lot of noise outside, but we just get on with things here. It’s an industrial estate, so it isn’t fancy at all. We mostly deal with technical skills and fixing stuff that comes our way. The space is a bit cramped with tools and parts everywhere, but it works for what we do. Sometimes the rain makes the road a bit of a mess, but that is just part of being in this part of Mumbai. We usually start early before the traffic on Aarey Road gets too backed up. People stop by because they see the sign or they know someone who came here before. It is just a small team of us working in this unit at 2A. We don’t have a big front desk or anything like that. You just walk in and someone will be around to help you out. Building 4 is easy enough to find once you get inside the gate. We keep the door open most of the time for some air, even with the dust from the road. It’s a practical place for practical work, nothing more than that really. We just keep our heads down and handle the daily tasks.
