Tapan Engineers & Fabricators is based at Darukhana 49 2. If you know the area, you know it’s full of workshops and industrial activity. It’s a bit of a rough-and-tumble place. We spend our days with metal and machines. There’s always the sound of something being cut or joined together. It’s not a quiet office environment. We have grease on our hands most of the time. The space at 49 2 isn't huge, but we make it work for all the fabrication we do. Engineering is about getting the measurements right and we try to do that every day. We’ve been in Darukhana for a long time. It’s an old part of the city and it has its own rhythm. We don't really bother with fancy branding. People come to us because they need things made or fixed. Sometimes the orders are small and sometimes they are bigger, we just take them as they come. It’s hot in the workshop during the summer months but we’re used to it. We keep our tools ready and our workbench busy. There’s no marketing team here, just us doing the actual labor. It’s a grit and sweat kind of business. We focus on the metalwork and let the results speak. It’s a basic, functional shop where we just keep our heads down and weld, cut, and grind until the job is done.
