Tanya Fashions Mumbai

Our place is over in Goregaon East, specifically at A-5/101 Jyoti Complex. Being on A. K. Vaidya Marg, right on the Filmcity Road, means it is always hectic. Mumbai is a busy city anyway, but this area is something else with all the studios nearby. You can hear the horns honking all day long from the shop. We have been at the Jyoti Complex for a few years now. The shop is a bit small, but we managed to fit a good number of racks in there. We mostly do women's fashion and things that people can wear to work or out for dinner. Sometimes people from the film sets stop in if they need something quick, but mostly it is just the locals who live in the surrounding buildings. We keep the door open to get a bit of a breeze, though that brings in all the city dust too. My sister helps me with the sales and we spend a lot of time just rearranging the hangers. It’s hard to keep things organized when it gets crowded on Saturday afternoons. The walls are painted a simple white and we have a few mirrors so people can see how the outfits look. We don't bother with fancy marketing or anything like that. We just open up the shutters every morning and see who comes by. It is a lot of work running a small business in Mumbai, but it keeps us busy and we like the location.
