Mensc is based out of the Sheikh Mohammad Chand National Bakery Stores on Mahul Road in Chembur, Mumbai. It’s a very specific location because we’re right there with the bakery. If you’ve ever been to Chembur, you know that Mahul Road can be quite busy with all sorts of transport moving through. We operate in a space that’s part of this local landmark. It’s not your typical sterile office environment; it smells like fresh bread and biscuits most of the time. We handle our business while the daily rush of the bakery happens around us. It’s a very Mumbai way of doing things—using the space we have in a crowded city. People come in for their snacks and we’re just there in the back or to the side doing our work. The pin code is 400074, right in the heart of the area. We’ve been here for a good while, and the neighborhood knows the Sheikh Mohammad Chand name well. Our day consists of managing the various tasks that come with running Mensc, mixed in with the sounds of the street and the shop. It’s a humble setup, but it’s ours. We don’t need anything more than a desk and a connection to keep things moving. It’s a real, local business experience, far removed from the high-rise offices in other parts of Mumbai. We just stay focused on our daily routine and the people who walk through the door.
