Tanavi Press

I've been working here at Tanavi Press for a good while now. We are tucked away in the Tirupati Industrial Estate over in Bhandup West. If you know the area, we’re right next to the Majestic Tower. It gets pretty loud in here sometimes with the machines running, but you get used to it after a few years. The smell of ink is just part of the air we breathe every day. Most mornings start with a cup of tea and looking over what needs to get printed before the sun gets too high. It’s an industrial estate, so there is always some noise or someone moving boxes around in the hallway. We just keep our heads down and get the paper loaded. Sometimes the machines act up or a part needs fixing, and that’s just how it goes in this business. It isn't a fancy place with bright lights or anything. Just some sturdy tables, the big presses, and stacks of paper everywhere you look. People from around the neighborhood drop by mostly. We know the shortcuts through the estate and which tea stall has the best snacks when we take a break. It's just a regular shop where we do our work and try to get things out on time. Bhandup is a busy place, and being near the tower means there's always something happening outside. We just stay busy inside with the ink and the rollers.
