We've been here in Vikroli West at E-6 for quite some time now. It’s a small place, mostly filled with boxes of stoves and mixers stacked up against the walls. My father started this because he liked fixing things, and now I mostly handle the customers while the boys do the repairs. It gets busy in the mornings when people drop off their broken kettles or fans on the way to work. Sometimes the shop feels too crowded with all the inventory, but we manage. People know us around here. We don't have a big fancy showroom with bright lights, just a counter and some shelves that have seen better days. The street outside is always noisy with the traffic from the main road. Most days I’m just making sure the deliveries arrive on time from the suppliers. Sometimes a shipment is late and I have to call everyone to apologize. It’s just how it goes in a small business. We deal with all sorts of household gadgets. If someone needs a new burner for their stove or a gasket for their pressure cooker, they usually come find us. It’s a lot of manual work, checking serial numbers and writing out receipts by hand. The tea guy comes by twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a break. It's not glamorous, but it keeps us going. Most of our customers are neighbors who have lived in Vikroli for years. We know their names and what they need.
