Swami Fashions Pvt. Ltd. is based out of the Thacker Industrial Estate, specifically at 16/C on M. Joshi Marg in Lower Parel. Lower Parel has changed a lot, but this industrial estate still feels like the old Mumbai in some ways. We’ve been working out of this unit for quite a while now. It’s a tight space, packed with sewing machines and rolls of cloth. Since we are in an industrial estate, it's pretty gritty. There are other workshops all around us, and everyone is just trying to get their work done. We focus on making garments for various clients. It's noisy, cramped, and usually pretty warm, but it's where we do our best work. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy lobby. If you come by, you'll probably walk right into the middle of someone cutting fabric or packing a carton. We've got a crew that knows exactly what they're doing, many of them have been with us for years. We don't worry about being the biggest company in the area. We just worry about the order in front of us. M. Joshi Marg is always a bit of a mess with traffic, but we are used to it by now. It’s just how things are in this part of the city. We keep our heads down and work.
