Surendra & Company

You’ll find Surendra & Company at Shop No 79 on Mirza Street in Kalbadevi. If you know this area, you know it’s always packed with people and carts moving goods around. We’ve been in this small shop for a long time. It’s not a big place, but we manage to get our work done. We deal with various items and most of our day is spent talking to traders or customers who stop by. We have stuff stacked up pretty high because space is tight. It’s a lot of writing out receipts by hand and checking the stock we have left. The street outside is narrow and loud, which is just part of being in Kalbadevi. We don't have a big team or any fancy computers everywhere. It’s just a basic shop where we do our business. Sometimes we have a bit of a chat with the other shopkeepers on the street while we wait for deliveries. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, but we have a small fan that keeps things moving. We’ve known some of our customers for years, and they know exactly where to find us. We don’t go in for anything flashy. We just open the shutters in the morning and stay until the work is finished for the day. It’s just the way things have always been done here at shop number 79 and it works for us.
