Sur Jewels

You can find Sur Jewels over in Electronic City, Andheri East. We’re in the Durga Building, specifically at number 25. Most people know us because we’re right near that popular juice corner. On hot days, the smell of fresh fruit drifts into our shop, which is a nice change from the usual city smells. Inside, it’s actually quite quiet compared to the noise outside. We have these small tables where we sit and look at stones or polish metal. It takes a lot of patience and a steady hand. My eyes get a bit tired by the end of the day, but it’s what we do. We’ve got a few old cabinets where we keep our tools and some velvet pads that have seen better days. It isn't a massive showroom with bright lights and fancy carpets. It’s more of a workshop where we actually sit and make things. People come in with broken chains or old rings that need resizing, and we just handle it right there. We spend a lot of time talking to customers about what they want, often over a glass of water. It’s a small operation, just a couple of us who have been doing this for a long time. We like being in Andheri East because everything we need is close by. It’s a good spot, even if the building is a bit old and the stairs are a little steep. We just keep the door open and wait for the next person to walk in.
