Our shop is Number 8 in Building Number 56. It’s in the BDD Worli area, near Pattharkuva. We are right opposite Mahendra Tower. It’s a bit of a contrast, the old BDD buildings and the big new tower across the street. We’ve been here since before that tower was even a thought. Our shop is quite simple. We don’t have any glass displays or bright lights. Just some shelves and a counter. We sell various things that people need. It’s more of a general supply spot. We know most of the people living in the building. They stop by to chat or buy a few things on their way home. Worli is a central place, so it’s always busy. The traffic on the main road never stops. We have a small ceiling fan that barely moves the air. In the summer, it gets very hot inside. We just sit near the door to get some breeze. We don’t have a manager or a corporate office. It’s just us running the place day to day. Sometimes we make mistakes with the change, but we fix it. We don’t have any big goals other than keeping the shop running. It’s been our life for a long time. We like the routine of opening up and seeing the same faces every day. It’s a good community here in Worli. We hope to stay for quite some time as things keep changing.
