Strand Hotel

We have been standing here on P.J. Ramchandani Marg for quite a long time. Our spot on Apollo Bunder Road is right near the water, so we get a lot of that salt air coming in through the windows. It is a very busy part of Mumbai, with tourists and locals always walking past the front door. The building has seen a lot over the years, and we try to keep it in good shape, though the humidity from the sea makes that a constant job for us. We have different kinds of rooms, some with a view of the harbor and others facing the street. It can get noisy outside with the taxis and people shouting, but that is just the 400001 area for you. We do not have all the modern gadgets that the brand-new hotels have, but we have clean beds and a staff that knows how to handle the daily rush. A lot of our guests have been coming back for years because they like being so close to the Gateway of India. We do not spend much time on fancy advertisements. We just keep the lights on and the rooms ready for whoever walks in. It is a bit cramped in the hallways sometimes, but that is just the charm of these old buildings. We just do our work, talk to the guests, and watch the ships go by in the distance. It is a simple business.
