If you come to 40 Bhagat Singh Road in Vile Parle (W), you have to head up to the 2nd floor to find us. Steel Case (I) Pvt. Ltd. has been based in this building for a long time. The stairs are a bit steep and can be tiring if you have to go up and down several times a day. Our office is a busy place where the phones seem to be ringing constantly and there is always a stack of invoices waiting to be signed. From the windows, you can see the street below which is always crowded with people and cars. It is quite a contrast to the quiet work we try to do inside. We deal with a lot of technical specifications and the desks are usually covered in blueprints and catalogs. The air conditioning unit is a bit noisy and rattles sometimes but it keeps the room comfortable enough. We are a small team and most of us have been working together for over a decade so we don't need many formal meetings. We just talk across the room. The kitchen area is just a small kettle and some biscuits in a tin. It is a practical workspace where we focus on getting the orders right and making sure the logistics are handled. We don't have fancy art on the walls, just a few calendars and some old photos of past projects we finished years ago.
