We are based out of the Mogul Building on Vaju Kotak Marg in Ballard Estate. It is plot number 25. If you know Mumbai, you know Ballard Estate has those big, old stone buildings that look very serious. Our office is like that too. It has high ceilings and it feels a bit like stepping back in time when you walk in. We work with gold jewellery here. It is not a place with a lot of flash. We have our desks set up and we spend the day handling the administrative side and the actual pieces. The area outside is usually busy with people working in shipping or the nearby offices, so it has a professional feel, but inside our space, we are just regular people. We keep things simple. There’s a lot of paperwork because dealing with gold requires it. Sometimes the rain hits the windows pretty hard during the monsoon, and you can hear the city outside, but it’s mostly quiet in the building. We aren't big on marketing. We just exist here in this old part of Mumbai and do our business. Most of our clients have been coming to this area for years. We make sure the pieces are handled carefully and that the records are kept straight. It’s a bit of a walk from the station, but we like the neighborhood. It feels solid and dependable, which is how we try to be too.
