Stars Salon

Stars Salon is located on L J Road in Mahim. We are in a building called Parekh Mahal, right next to the Ashray Hotel. L J Road is a major road in Mahim, so there are always buses and cars going past the door. The shop is on the ground floor, so it’s easy for people to just walk in. It’s a fairly simple setup with the mirrors on the wall and the barber chairs lined up. We have a small area where people can sit and wait if the chairs are full. It’s a very local kind of place where we know a lot of the people who come in. We don’t have any big corporate signs or fancy interiors. We mostly just focus on the cutting and shaving. The floor is made of simple tiles and we have to sweep it quite often because of all the hair. We keep our tools in the drawers and the towels are always stacked up in the back. There isn't much in the way of decoration, just some pictures of hair styles on the wall. We get people who are just passing through and others who have lived in Mahim for decades. It’s a honest, everyday business. We open up in the morning and stay until late evening. We don’t talk much about visions or anything like that; we just get the work done for the people on L J Road.
