Standard Scientific Glass Industries

Our place, Standard Scientific Glass Industries, is on the 2nd Floor of Milan Chhaya. The building is at number 23 on Hfs Road in Jogeshwari East. If you’ve ever been to this part of Mumbai, you know how busy it can get. Being on the second floor helps us get a little bit away from the street noise, but you can still hear the trains and the traffic. We work with a lot of glass equipment, so we have to be very careful. One wrong move and something breaks, which is never good. The office isn't anything special to look at. It's filled with shelves and protective packaging. We spend our time checking orders and making sure the glass is packed safely for transport. It’s a small operation. We don’t have a lot of fancy equipment for ourselves, just the tools we need to do the job. The air in Jogeshwari can get quite hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but someone has to do it. We’ve been here for a while and the locals know us. We just show up, do the work, and head home like everyone else. It’s a practical business without any unnecessary frills. We focus on the glass and making sure it gets where it's going in one piece. There is always a lot to do, especially when large shipments arrive at the building.
