Iris Industries

Our place is in the Sarita Building, number 225, inside the Prabhat Industrial Estate. It’s right off the Western Express Highway in Dahisar East. You can hear the trucks and cars zooming by all day long. Iris Industries is spread out across a couple of rooms. We do a lot of general industrial production here. It’s a lot of packing and unpacking boxes. The building is a bit old, and the lift is sometimes temperamental, so we end up using the stairs more than we’d like. We don't have a fancy corporate office. It’s just desks pushed together and shelves full of inventory. We spend a lot of time checking orders against invoices. The staff is just a handful of local people. We have a small kettle for making coffee and we usually take turns bringing in snacks. It’s a bit cramped when a big shipment arrives, but we manage. We aren’t interested in using big words or making ourselves sound more important than we are. We’re just a small business trying to get the orders out on time. Sometimes the monsoon rains leak a little near the window, and we have to move the boxes. We just deal with those things as they come. It’s a regular job in a busy part of Dahisar. We keep our heads down and get the work done.
