We are located at 45/46 in the Podar Chambers on S.A. Brelvi Road. This is one of those older buildings with thick walls and high ceilings, which stays relatively cool even when the city is baking outside. Standard Materials Agencies Pvt. Ltd. has been tucked away in these chambers for a long time. The hallway is usually quiet, but you can hear the muffled sounds of the traffic from Brelvi Road all day. It is a lot of paperwork and phone calls here, dealing with different suppliers and moving materials from one place to another. Our office has those old wooden cabinets that are stuffed full of records and ledgers from years ago. We do not use much fancy technology besides the basics needed to get the job done. The desks are mismatched and there is always a stack of files that someone needs to go through. It is a busy part of town, so finding parking for visitors is always a bit of a nightmare. Most of us just take the bus or walk from the nearest station. We usually have our lunch at the desks while talking about the news or the cricket scores. It is a steady, predictable kind of work, and we have grown quite fond of this dusty old office and the rhythm of the street outside our window.
