Our hospital is located at House Number 2209, which many people around Phulambri still call Gadekar Hospital. It’s a familiar building in this area that most people have passed a thousand times. We have a pretty straightforward setup here for taking care of the local residents who live in the village and the surrounding farms. It’s not a huge city-style facility with glass walls, but we have the basics covered for when people get sick or hurt. The building has some history to it, and you can see that in the thick walls and the old-fashioned layout of the rooms. We have a few wards for people who need to stay for a couple of days and a small area for emergency walk-ins at night. During the monsoon season, things can get a bit damp and humid, but we keep everything as clean as we possibly can. The staff mostly comes from the nearby villages, so we speak the same language as our patients and know their families. There isn't a lot of high-tech machinery everywhere, just the stuff we really need to do our jobs. We spend our shifts checking on patients, giving out medicine, and talking to families who are worried about their loved ones. It’s a quiet life in Phulambri for the most part, but the hospital stays busy enough to keep us working hard. We don't put on any airs. We're just here to help.
